Milton Keynes school announces new Principal

    Damian McGeehin has been promoted to Principal at Milton Keynes school, Lift Sir Herbert Leon.

    He has been leading the school as Associate Principal since March 2024, overseeing the school’s rapid improvement, culminating in securing  ‘good’ judgements across all categories by Ofsted, under the previous inspection framework. 

    He has forged strong links with local primary schools and was instrumental in being awarded the Milton Keynes Education Awards ‘Secondary School of the Year’ in 2025. 

    "I am delighted to be leading Sir Herbert Leon as Principal," Mr McGeehin said, "I have thoroughly enjoyed nearly 2 years as Associate Principal, getting to know staff, students and their families. I would like to thank everyone for their support and look forward to the continued success of our students at school.”

    Nabila Jiwa, regional education director for Lift Schools added: “This is a thoroughly deserved promotion for Mr McGeehin, who is an excellent leader. We are confident that Lift Sir Herbert Leon will continue to flourish under his leadership and I look forward to working with him to improve the school even further.” 

    Mr McGeehin will take up the Principal position immediately.
