Milton Keynes Rugby Club invites local youth to "Give Rugby A Try"

Designed for boys and girls aged 5 to 16, this inclusive event introduces newcomers to the sport in a safe, friendly, and fun-filled environment.

Milton Keynes Rugby Union Football Club (MKRUFC) warmly invites families and young athletes to "Give Rugby A Try", a free rugby taster event happening on Saturday, 29th June from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. at The Valley, Bowland Drive, Emerson Valley, Milton Keynes MK4 2DN.

Designed for boys and girls aged 5 to 16, this inclusive event introduces newcomers to the sport in a safe, friendly, and fun-filled environment. No experience is necessary – just bring your energy and curiosity!

At the heart of this event lies the club’s core mission: to build confidence from the very first pass. MKRUFC takes pride in nurturing players from a young age, many of whom grow through the club's teams and go on to represent the senior side. These home-grown players are the heart of the club – a testament to the family-like spirit that defines Milton Keynes Rugby.

“We believe rugby offers more than just a sport – it gives young people a foundation for life,” said David James, Chairman at MKRUFC. “It builds confidence, creates life-long friendships, and becomes a go-to environment for support, fun, and personal growth.  This initiative is part of the club’s broader vision to strengthen rugby at every level, from youth to senior teams. MKRUFC is investing in long-term player development, with a strong focus on nurturing talent, promoting teamwork, and maintaining an inclusive environment that welcomes players of all ages, genders, and abilities.

“We have a clear focus on the long-term development of rugby,” James continued. “We will continue to ensure rugby is accessible, engaging, and competitive for all. These initiatives reflect our commitment to developing the game at every age and ability".
