Milton Keynes residents urged to order repeat prescriptions before the Easter break

People who take regular medications have been urged to order their repeat prescriptions in good time ahead of the long Easter weekend (Good Friday, 29 March to Easter Monday, 1 April).

Many general practices and pharmacies in Milton Keynes will close for some or all of the holiday period, so a senior local doctor has issued a reminder to patients who take regular doses of medicines or use medical devices.

Dr Sarah Whiteman, chief medical director at Bedfordshire, Luton and Milton Keynes Integrated Care Board, said: “It’s important to plan ahead and to order your repeat prescription in plenty of time, to make sure you don’t run out over Easter.  We recommend that you order by Friday 22 March if possible, so that your request can be approved and you have enough time for collection or delivery.”

“With bank holidays on either side of the Easter weekend, it’s important to plan ahead.  To avoid an unexpected gap in your medication, which can be unhelpful or even dangerous in some circumstances, please make sure you order your prescription well in advance.”
