Milton Keynes residents urged to only call 999 in case of 'absolute emergency' as police contact centres face issues

Residents are being told that there may be a delay to having 999 calls answered as the contact centres face issues.

MKFM understands the issue is now solved.

In a statement on social media, Thames Valley Police are telling residents to report all non urgent issues through their website, with 111 calls currently not going through to contact centres.

There are also delays to 999 call responses.

In a post on X, Thames Valley Police said: "Please note we are having issues with calls going into our contact centres.

"999 calls are still being responded to but there may be a delay in them being answered so please only call if an absolute emergency.

"101 calls are not coming through to our contact centres so please use online reporting for anything that is not urgent: https://thamesvalley.police.uk/ro/report/ocr/af/how-to-report-a-crime/…

"We are working urgently to fix this issue and will update when it’s resolved."
