Milton Keynes residents hear 'loud bang' as emergency services attend lorry fire at M1 services

Police confirmed that emergency services were on the scene of a lorry fire on the northbound entry to Newport Pagnell services last night (27 February)

Residents took to social media after hearing a 'loud bang' in the Newport Pagnell area last night.

Some residents also said they could smell burning from their homes.

Thames Valley Police has taken to X to confirm emergency services were attending a lorry fire on the northbound entry to Newport Pagnell services, on the M1.

Thankfully, nobody was hurt and police say the incident was not suspicious.

Smoke and steam could be seen across the motorway and around the Little Linford Lane and Poets area of Newport Pagnell.
