Milton Keynes’ Reaction to Manchester Explosion at Ariana Grande Concert

The people of Milton Keynes are reacting to the news that twenty-two people, including children, have died and 59 others were injured after an explosion at an Ariana Grande pop concert at Manchester Arena in a suspected terror attack.

Milton Keynes’ new Mayor, David Hopkins, will be holding a short public vigil tonight at 7.30pm in honour of those who lost their lives at Manchester Arena. The event will be held at The MK Rose in Campbell Park and is an opportunity for our community to come together in solidarity and stand with the people of Manchester on this day.

Milton Keynes Council’s flag will be flying at half-mast today. The Council have said that their thoughts and deepest sympathies go out to the victims and their families.

Peter Marland, Leader of Milton Keynes Council has said, “It's difficult to comprehend what has happened in Manchester. Innocent kids who go to an innocuous pop concert but never go home. Just awful.”

MP’s of Milton Keynes also share their sympathies with all whom were involved in the event last night. Mark Lancaster, MP for Milton Keynes North says, “Thoughts and prayers to all those affected by this simply appalling attack in Manchester.”

Iain Stewart, MP for Milton Keynes South states, “My thoughts and prayers today are with the victims of Manchester and their families.”

The MK Dons have tweeted, “The Club's thoughts, this morning, are with the people of Manchester and all those affected by last night's tragic events.”
