Milton Keynes pub on the hunt for talent

The H Factor Final comes to Halley’s Comet Pub this Sunday.

Halley’s Comet in Bradville has quickly built a reputation as one of Milton Keynes’ most exciting pubs and even referred to as an entertainment venue, thanks to the vision of its owners, local couple Hannah Armitage and Simon Corkett. As well as running their events business, Ultra Events, Hannah and Simon took over the franchised pub with one mission: to create a place with a buzz and host a wide range of events that bring the community together.

And they’ve certainly delivered. From regular family fun days to weekly disco bingo, tribute nights and hosting world-renowned DJs like Nicky Blackmarket, Oxide & Neutrino, They even ran their own festival headlined by Aries (fresh from playing at Glastonbury). Halley’s Comet has become a hotspot for both big-name acts and local talent and a night to remember!

One of their most successful ideas yet has been The H Factor – a singing competition launched in August to uncover raw talent in Milton Keynes. What started with three weeks of heats, followed by quarter- and semi-finals, has grown into a huge community favourite, even attracting performers and audiences from as far afield as Harrow.

Weekly  judging has been provided by an entertaining line-up: landlord “Simon Cowellkett”, local legend Gary Williams (a.k.a. Bon Jovi), and singer-host Demi Sherhatter.

The competition has been fierce, and now it all comes down to the grand final this Sunday, where five amazing singers will battle it out for the title.

Not only will the winner be crowned H Factor Champion, they’ll also walk away with £500 cash and a paid gig at Halley’s Comet. To mark the occasion, three extra guest judges will be joining the panel, including the ever-popular Irish Jo, who will also interview the winner after the show.

Landlady Hannah Armitage says she has been blown away by the event’s success:

“When we first started this, I never imagined how popular it would be. The first heat was door-to-door packed, the second was even busier, and it just kept growing each week. People have travelled from all over to take part, and the talent has been incredible. We’ve already invited some of our semi-finalists back to host their own monthly karaoke nights – so keep an eye on our socials for those. The H Factor has been so well received that we’ll be bringing it back in January.”

This Sunday promises to be an unforgettable night for music lovers and a milestone in Halley’s Comet’s journey as one of MK’s most vibrant community pubs, pop along to enjoy the night for yourselves.
