Milton Keynes primary school raises money for Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal

A Milton Keynes primary school has been raising money for the Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal.

£1,800 Raised by Middleton Primary School for Turkey and Syria Earthquake Appeal Moved by pleas for urgent assistance to help the people of Turkey and Syria, parents and staff have donated over £1800 to Oxfam’s earthquake appeal, following a mufti day held at Middleton Primary School.

Pupils enjoyed wearing non-uniform for a voluntary £1 donation.

The monies were collected in school and via a JustGiving page.

Headteacher Rachel Roberts said: “As a school community, we were incredibly saddened by the devastating and tragic events in Turkey and Syria. With a large number of Middleton families, who were originally from these two countries, we were compelled to contribute to support people caught up in the disaster.

“We hope that the donation will help survivors, aided by Oxfam and the Disasters Emergency Committee, with food, medicine and shelter.”
