Milton Keynes primary school pupils enjoy story time with local author

Housebuilder Crest Nicholson welcomed the pupils of local primary school Glebe Farm School to their Manor View development in Milton Keynes for a book reading with a popular local author.

Pupils aged between six and eight from the all through school visited Manor View’s Romsey show home for a reading hosted by local author Susie Cullen. Susie is a children’s fiction author who creates illustrated dinosaur books for children.

She read from her latest book ‘Dino-bites’, a story-cookery book from the ‘Dinosaur in My Pocket’ series.

Charlie Joseph, Sales and Marketing Director at Crest Nicholson Chiltern, said: “It was a pleasure to welcome Susie and the children from Glebe Farm School to Manor View. The pupils were very intrigued in Susie’s stories, and she really bought them to life for the children.

“Reading is such an important part of children’s learning, and we hope to encourage all the pupils and their families to enjoy literature both during their school time and at home to boost their knowledge and skills.”

Susie Cullen, Local Author, said: “It was an absolute blast sharing the adventures of Roary the little dinosaur with the children for the launch of my new cookery-storybook “Dinobites”. A huge thank you to the school staff and especially the children for making this event such a memorable one. I'm so glad "Dinobites" resonated with the little ones and they enjoyed the brand new ‘Roar Like a Dinosaur’ song!  It's my hope that the book not only inspires them to explore the world of cooking but also sparks their imagination and love for dinosaurs.  Let the dino cooking adventures continue at home!”

Miss Well, class teacher at Glebe Farm School, said: “We value the importance of reading within our school environment and are always looking for ways to spark our pupil’s interests in getting lost in a good book, and the story time event was a great way to encourage that. We are grateful for Crest Nicholson for hosting a fun afternoon to boost the children’s imagination.”

Crest Nicholson has a range of four and five bedroom homes at their Manor View development ideally suited to families. More information can be found here
