Milton Keynes police meet with Russian and Ukrainian residents to discuss hate crime

Officers have met with residents to discuss hate crime and how they can tackle it.

Police officers in Milton Keynes have met with local residents of Russian and Ukrainian origin to discuss their experiences with hate crime. A spokesperson said: "Meeting with our communities is a key part of what we do in MK."

The residents heard how the police investigate incidents and how best to report them if English isn't the victims first language.

They also spoke to a young girl who says she has been bullied in recent weeks whilst at school.

Police said: "All those living and working in Milton Keynes have a right to feel safe here and community engagement events like these help us understand the concerns of our residents.

"They also provide an opportunity to explain the work of officers, detectives and staff to make MK safer that is not as openly visible."
