Milton Keynes North MP Ben Everitt hails carers as society's unsung heroes

Ben Everitt, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has joined thousands of people in pledging his support for unpaid carers on Carers Week 2020.

Carers Week highlights the unpaid carers who look after a family member or friend who has a disability, mental or physical illness or who needs extra help as they grow older.

Mr Everitt has pledged his support to champion the incredible work carers do, especially during the current Coronavirus pandemic.

Mr Everitt commented: "To anybody who is caring for a loved one in Milton Keynes or across the country, thank you so much. Carers often go unnoticed, but they are genuine unsung heroes in our society."

"I understand how difficult it must be and how much tougher it must be for you as we tackle the coronavirus pandemic."

He added: "And I especially want to highlight the wonderful work Carers MK do to provide support for the health and wellbeing of unpaid carers across Milton Keynes."

He concluded: "I’m pleased the Care Minister Helen Whately has pledged to listen and champion the needs of unpaid carers."
