Milton Keynes mum creates working women’s group

First meeting for place to grow and share launched by city mother.

A Milton Keynes-based mum has launched a new group to help like-minded working women balance family life with their business dreams.

Joanna Dodi formed Moms in Business MK after finding she was juggling family life while trying to build something meaningful for herself.

Her fledging group meets for the first time later this month in the city centre. The opening event will feature guest speaker Dr. Susan Izadkhasti, Leadership and Wellbeing Coach and Founder of Engineered Life by Design, who will share insights on confidence, leadership, and balance in everyday life.

“Being a mum can feel like juggling a dozen roles at once, and sometimes it’s easy to lose sight of your own dreams in the mix,” said Joanna. “That’s why Moms in Business MK was created.

“It’s a safe, supportive space for mums who want to reconnect with their goals, build confidence, and find genuine community, whether they already run a business, have a side hustle, or are simply looking for a spark of inspiration to start something new.”

The initial gathering takes place at 299 Silbury Boulevard on 16th November, 12.30-2.30pm. There will be complimentary coffee and food sponsored by David Cooks, a business founded by a local dad and chef who now runs his own private dining business.

“This isn’t about perfect businesses or polished pitches,” said Joanna. “It’s about real women, real stories, and creating a space where every mum feels encouraged to dream a little bigger.”

Moms in Business MK will continue hosting free and low-cost meet-ups to help local mums turn ideas into action, friendship into collaboration, and confidence into growth.
