The MP for Milton Keynes North, Chris Curtis, is among the names mentioned in a Labour-linked lobbying firm brochure selling access to government officials for thousands of pounds.
Ahead of this July’s Future of Tech Summit, which is coordinated by Arden Strategies and tech industry lobbying group Startup Coalition, a brochure sent out to potential sponsors lists a range of tiered packages - the most expensive costing £30,000 - giving access to ministers.
The brochure makes mention of last year’s similar event, and Mr Curtis: ‘For £7,500, companies can sponsor and co-host a 90-minute roundtable with a “VIP guest”. At last year’s event, the guests were generally MPs with an interest in tech and AI policy, including now-AI minister Kanishka Narayan and the chair of the influential Labour Growth Group of MPs, Chris Curtis, a former aide to Starmer,' it said.
Chris says he had no involvement in any commercial aspects of the event.
In a statement to MKFM, the MPs office told us: "Chris attended the Future of Tech Summit last year in his capacity as an MP with an interest in technology policy. He had no knowledge of, or involvement in, any sponsorship arrangements or commercial aspects of the event.
"His name was subsequently used in promotional material without his knowledge or consent.”
