Milton Keynes MPs lobby for Bletchley station entrance

Campaign ramped up over site’s new access.

The Labour MP for Buckingham and Bletchley has fired up his campaign in Parliament for a new eastern entrance at Bletchley railway station – a fight he has led since his election in 2024.

Speaking in the House of Commons, Callum Anderson made clear that the eastern entrance is critical to unlocking the regeneration of Bletchley town centre.

He was backed by Emily Darlington, Labour MP for Milton Keynes Central, who said Bletchley was repeatedly being left behind.

Callum Anderson told MPs that Bletchley station currently ‘turns its back’ on the town, forcing passengers to navigate an indirect and unwelcoming route to reach the High Street and bus connections.

A new eastern entrance would reconnect the station with the town centre, increase footfall for local businesses, and create a modern gateway for residents and visitors,  including those heading to the Bletchley Park heritage attraction.

The proposal is also supported by Milton Keynes City Council, the Bletchley Park Trust, Bletchley and Fenny Stratford Town Council and the Milton Keynes Labour Party – underlining the local consensus on its importance.

The campaign builds on sustained work by the MP, including securing commitments from the Secretary of State for Transport, Heidi Alexander, and the Rail Minister, Lord Hendy, to meet with him to discuss delivering the project.

Transport Minister Keir Mather has said East West Rail will consult later this year on proposals for an eastern entrance, alongside efforts to secure third-party funding.

“The East West Railway Company has already made a detailed strategic case for a new eastern entrance,” said Callum. “It represents good value for money and would deliver real economic and social benefits for Bletchley, Milton Keynes and the wider area. This is something I, alongside others, will continue to fight for.”
