Chris Curtis, the MP for Milton Keynes North, has just launched a new campaign, ‘Chris’s Charity Advent Calendar’, which will highlight a different charity based in Milton Keynes daily until Christmas Eve.
The campaign aims to promote and amplify the voices of the hardworking charities operating in our city, many of whom find themselves busier than ever over the festive period.
He has teamed up with a broad range of charities to allow people to hear from people involved with the charities themselves, and a number of others will be highlighted using his social media channels.
“The Christmas period can be a lot of fun for many of us, but for me the spirit of the season has always been about coming together - which I think is a particularly important message this year,” Chris said, “As a Milton Keynes community, we have a range of incredible charities working among us who could really use some extra support.
“I’m grateful to have a platform as a local Member of Parliament, and as well as sharing my own work, I wanted to use that platform to highlight some of those fantastic charitable organisations, many of whom really don’t get enough recognition.”
Chirs added: “I know that after the last few years many people across the city are struggling, and I don’t want anyone to feel pressured to give. However, myself and these charities would be hugely grateful if anyone feels they are able to give, and I’ll be sharing ways to do so directly throughout the campaign.”
