Milton Keynes Man Cave members to take charity walk in their stride

A group of men from Milton Keynes will be stepping into a 25 mile charity walk on Sunday, raising money for mental health support group, The Man Cave UK.

The peer to peer support network, for men aged 18 years and above, provides a safe and supportive space to discuss mental health, and seek help when required.

Ross Gould, 41, visited the Milton Keynes branch as an attendee, before becoming a volunteer.

“The Man Cave has given me support and helped me through a difficult time,” he told MKFM, “It also provided me with a mental health tool kit, and through helping others it has given me purpose, he added.

Writing on the official GoFundMe page, organisers said Man Cave UK is 'a place for real conversations, encouragement, and understanding, something that is so often missing in men’s mental health support ensuring they have a place to talk, connect, and heal together.'

Thirteen people will be clocking up the miles this weekend, on a route starting at Howe Wood, with the finish line at Caldecotte.

Ross estimates that the walk will take between eight and a half and 10 hours.
