LIVE UPDATES: Water supply issues across Milton Keynes due to pump failure

    Schools and residents across areas of Milton Keynes are being affected by water supply issues today (14/7).

    14:40PM - Water is expected to return to normal by 5pm.

    A spokesperson for Anglian Water said: "We've now isolated the burst so that the pumps can be switched on and the majority of customers will be back on within the hour."

    13:15PM - MKFM receives update from Anglian Water.

    An Anglian Water spokesperson said, “Our teams are currently attending a burst water main in Pitfield in Milton Keynes. Some customers will be affected by low pressure or no water and hope to have this rectified as quickly as possible.

     “We would like to apologise for any inconvenience this is causing and thank everyone for their patience while we attend this emergency incident.”

    12:55PM - Buckinghamshire Fire and Rescue warn of road closures.

    West Ashland crew are at a burst pipe incident in Pitfield, Kiln Farm Lane, Milton Keynes. The fire services warns there may be local road closures.

    12:15PM - Emergency Services and Anglian Water on scene of a burst water main.

    Police, along with the Fire Service and Anglian Water are in Kiln Farm, dealing with a burst water main. Please note there will be disruptions in the area at this time.

    11:50AM - Students at several Milton Keynes schools are being sent home due to water supply issues.

    Many households across Milton Keynes are experience low water pressure, and some have no water at all. Local water company, Anglian Water, say that this is due to a pump failure.

    MKFM understands that Shenley Brook End School, Bradwell Village School and Holmwood School, Lord Grey and Stanton School are among those sending students home.

    The company estimates that the issue will be fixed by 1:30pm.

    11:33AM - MKFM understands residents are reporting water supply issues.

    A spokesperson for Anglia Water said: "We're really sorry but some customers in Milton Keynes and Surrounding Area may have very low water pressure or no water at all.

    "We've had a pump failure in [Milton Keynes] area that we're working hard to get fixed, so that we can get your supply back to normal as soon as possible."
