Milton Keynes Hospital Charity to receive £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity have successfully secured £10,000 from the National Lottery Community Fund towards an outdoor gym which will be installed in the hospital grounds.

After the impacts of covid, the long hours hospital staff committed to and the need for functional outdoor spaces, the funding for the gym was sought to provide a slightly different outdoor area for all to enjoy. This will feature a range of light-exercise equipment for staff, volunteers, patients, and their loved ones to enjoy.

Over the coming months visitors will see the space being developed with the hopes that the installation will be complete by the summer.

Vanessa Holmes, Associate Director, Charity and Fundraising at the hospital says: “we have seen the incredible work all of the hospital staff have put in throughout the pandemic and beyond. We wanted to give something back following regular requests for a gym and limited space internally, this is our way of saying thank you.”

If you have any suggestions for improvements of community areas, project ideas or would like to be involved in fundraising for the charity, please contact fundraising@mkuh.nhs.uk.
