Milton Keynes hospital chairperson announced

New appointment committed to patient experience and safety.

Milton Keynes University Hospital NHS Trust (MKUH) has announced the appointment of Heidi Travis OBE as its new Chair.

She brings a wealth of experience to the role – her impressive career track record includes 14 years in board-level roles at Sue Ryder, and 25 years at Marks & Spencer PLC.

She formerly served as a Non-Executive Director for both Bucks PCT (now Bucks NHS) and Aylesbury Vale CCG.

Since 2018, Heidi has been a Non-Executive Director of MKUH and, in April 2024, she became its interim Chair following the departure of Alison Davis.

“I am honoured to become Chair of MKUH on a permanent basis and I look forward to collaborating with the Board, and all of our colleagues, as we navigate the challenges ahead,” said Heidi.

“I am committed to continuing our work to improve timely access to hospital services and will ensure that we maintain a focus on patient experience, accessibility and safety.”

“Heidi is an innovative, highly-skilled leader and we are very pleased that she is now a permanent Chair,” added Joe Harrison, CEO of MKUH. “Her skills and positivity will be instrumental in helping us to deliver a hospital that is fit for the future.”
