A free 'pop-up archaeology museum' comes to Milton Keynes this Thursday (August 21), courtesy of East West Rail.
Hosted by the Museum of London Archaeology, the event is being held at Fishermead Trinity Centre and will give an insight into the discoveries unearthed near the future route of East West Rail – items span more than 2000 years of history.
Artefacts on display will include pottery, coins, brooches, bracelets and buttons, and attendees will have the opportunity to participate in activities including basket weaving.
Archaeologists will also be on hand to discuss discoveries made in the area.
The event is being held before planned archaeological investigations begin ahead of work to deliver the 95 miles of East West Rail track which will connect communities between Oxford, Milton Keynes, Bedford and Cambridge.
The family friendly pop-up will run from 11am to 6pm, and no pre-booking is necessary.
