Milton Keynes Gallery invites families to a free and colourful bank holiday weekend

Inspired by Memphis: Place of Good Abode, Chez (2021).

MK Gallery is hosting a Memphis-inspired family fun day this August bank holiday, with activities for the whole family.

Free drop-in workshop led by artist Sarah Hunt, will take inspiration from the Gallery’s current exhibition Memphis: Plastic Field and the new floor mural Place of Good Abode by Chez, to explore colour and shape through play.

In the Gallery’s Events Space, there will be an 80s silent disco with channels to choose from, one for children and one for parents, which will be non-stop 80s hits.

Laughing Lollies, an interactive installation created from five giant brightly coloured lolly pops, will tell jokes to anyone who comes close. With 100 hilarious, creative, side-splitting jokes the lolly pops will get the little ones giggling.

The Gallery’s head chef will be firing up the BBQ on the Café terrace from 2pm, so families can eat, drink, and relax in the Bank Holiday summer sun.

The fun day is taking place Saturday 28th August, 12pm – 4pm.

Entry is free for all ages with booking required for the silent disco.
