A local energy solutions company have donated two e-chargers to MK Food Bank.
Derry Shaw and Kelly Harris from Shawcan Energy Solutions Ltd have donated and installed two Tesla chargers at MK Food Bank’s warehouse, all free of charge.
Poppy from MK Food Bank told MKFM, “Massive thank you to Derry Shaw and Kelly Harris from Shawcan Energy Solutions Ltd, through managing to facilitate the donation of two Tesla chargers themselves to completing the install at the MK Food Bank warehouse. They have gone out of their way to help and support us and we are so incredibly grateful!”
The donation will help keep the foodbank's e-vehicles fully charged, and will therefore help deliver hundreds of parcels around Milton Keynes every week.
Derry Shaw, Director at Shawcan Energy Solutions Ltd, said, "We're proud to have dedicated a weekend to installing two Tesla Gen 3 wall-connectors free of charge, for the MK Food Bank in collaboration with Milton Keynes City Council.”
Derry added, “Both EVCP's were donated by Tesla themselves and all additional required materials were donated by our wholesaler ‘Electric Center’, which was very kind of them. The faster charging will allow for better utility of both electric vans, providing a valuable service to the local community. A very big thank you to all involved in getting this across the line."
