Milton Keynes Food Bank launches BIG Little GIVE 2022 campaign following one of the busiest winters ever

    MK Food Bank has launched its BIG Little GIVE 2022 campaign.

    MK Food Bank has launched its latest campaign following what they say has been one of the busiest winters ever.

    In the 6 weeks of 2022 so far, MK Food Bank have given out more than 2,500 food parcels.

    This is around 10% up on last year – and rising. It also means that the Food Bank are running dangerously low on our core food items.

    The Food Bank is asking that as many people as possible GIVE a Little, to make a BIG difference, with a goal to collect 33,333 of its desperately needed items throughout the month of March.

    A spokesperson for MK Food Bank said: "Right now, we are in the middle of the busiest winter the Food Bank has ever seen.

    "Food prices and home energy costs are absolutely soaring and every single day we hear from dozens of people who can’t keep their houses warm or who are struggling to feed themselves and their children."

    How can you get involved?

    • Check their shopping list (below) Why not take a photo so it’s handy at all times?
    • Make a collection point in your office, classroom, church, gym or social group and ask everyone to bring donations. The Food Bank will have stickers that can be sent to you.
    • Take your donations to the MK Food Bank warehouse or drop in supermarket collection points

    • Long life Juice or Squash
    • Long life milk
    • Dried rice (500g or 1kg)
    • Tinned meat
    • Rice pudding/Custard
    • Tinned fruit
    • Tinned fish
    • Jam, Peanut butter Or
    • Chocolate spread
