Milton Keynes firefighters rescue residents, dogs and robot from flooding incident

Local firefighters responded to a variety of flood incidents across Milton Keynes yesterday (18/06) after recent high levels of rainfall resulted in flooding.

Following the Met Office's yellow weather warning for rain, many local areas have fallen victim to flooding over the last 24 hours.

Emergency services have been working tirelessly to resolve any flood related issues and escort affected locals to safety.

One such incident saw firefighters rescue a handful of local residents and their pets who were trapped due to the flood waters, as well as a Starship Technologies delivery robot.

Firefighters from West Ashland Fire Station responded to a callout at around 7pm last night on Whaddon Way, after flooding in the street resulted in a number of bungalow residents impacted by the levels of flooding.

In a post released on West Ashland Fire Station's Facebook page, a spokesperson described the situation as they said: "Today White Watch were called to various flooding incidents, including this one in Bletchley where 7 residents, 6 dogs and a robot were rescued from flood waters."

Any new areas of severe flooding should be reported to the relevant authorities. You can make a report to Milton Keynes Council via Customer Services on 01908 252353 or email customerservices@milton-keynes.gov.uk.
