Milton Keynes firefighters deal with field fire and bonfire incidents

    Fire crews were called to a field fire involving standing crop and a hedgerow on Saturday.

    The units from West Ashland and Buckingham used two hose reel jets, farm machinery, beaters, water backpacks and thermal imaging cameras in their work.

    The blaze, at Addington Estate Roads, was also attended by a Wildfire Unit from Banbury.

    > Earlier in the day, the West Ashland crew joined the Wild Fire Unit from West Ashland to deal with a bonfire in a wooded area at Oxley Park, which consisted of loose rubbish.

    Thames Valley Police were notified.
