A Milton Keynes woman has shared her delight on social media after being reunited with her pet cat 12 YEARS after going missing.

Local mum Roxanne took to a missing cat group on Facebook to give others hope after her cat was reunited with the family after over 12 years.

Family cat Lola was just 2 years old at the time she disappeared.

Roxanne said: "I was pregnant with my first born son who is 12 soon and rescued Lola, who was 2 at the time, so that when he was born they could grow up together and be the best of friends, just like I had done when I grew up.

"I had her microchipped and spayed…and then a few weeks later she disappeared, I searched and searched for a long time but never found her. So obviously life moved on as it does.

"She’s now roughly 14yrs old but is very healthy for her age.

"This just proves how important it is to microchip our pets and how lucky we are that rescues like MK RSPCA exist, without them she would never have been returned to me."

Roxanne told MKFM that her beloved cat was found on her mother's street in Coffee Hall.

"She’s doing absolutely amazing, she has settled in so much quicker than I expected. She wants constant fuss and wakes me up during the night for attention."

Despite being missing for over 12 years, Lola is very healthy, receiving a bit of dental work from the vets.

Roxanne plans on slowly introducing Lola to her other cats in the near future.
