A Milton Keynes resident has set up a GoFundMe for a family following a devastating house fire last week that left the home severely damaged.
Bel and Lauren, residents of Glebe Farm, along with their children Olivia (9) and Sam (17), and their four pets, were fortunately unharmed after the fire broke out on Tuesday, August 27.
The fire, which could have been much worse, was fortunately contained by a fire door, preventing further spread. However, despite no injuries, the family’s home suffered extensive smoke and water damage, leaving it in a dire condition.
Upon hearing the news, fellow Milton Keynes resident, Rhian Evans, decided to step up and help. She created a GoFundMe page to raise funds for the affected family, hoping to rally community support.
"I just feel so bad for them and the children, and I’d like to get some community spirit to help them," Rhian told MKFM. "I initially set up the Glebe Farm Facebook page when we were a new estate almost four years ago, and I helped to run it. Helping others, your neighbours is what community is all about, isn’t it!"
