Father’s ashes still missing after car theft.
A Milton Keynes family is appealing for help finding their stolen belongings, including a relative’s ashes, after they were stolen from their car last week.
Lynda Watt, from Kingsmead, returned from holiday in the early hours of last Friday. But within 30 minutes of arriving home, four suitcases and their daughter’s wheelchair were stolen from the unlocked vehicle.
In the suitcases were sentimental items, including a gift chosen by the children and a container holding Lynda’s late father’s ashes, thought to look similar to that pictured.
The theft has been reported to Thames Valley Police and some of the items have been recovered, including the wheelchair. But Lynda’s late father’s ashes are still missing.
“We’re so grateful that some things have been recovered,” said Lynda on social media. “But what really matters most to us is getting my dad’s ashes back home where they belong. If anyone finds them or knows where they might be, please, please come forward.”
Residents in the Kingsmead, Oxley Park, Westcroft, or Whaddon areas are asked to check their CCTVs and doorbell cameras for any footage that might help, and to contact Thames Valley Police if they have anything of interest.
