Milton Keynes drug dealer killed rival with 'fearsome' blade to 'protect his turf'

    Mohamud Hashi

A local drug dealer killed his rival in broad daylight to 'protect his turf', a court heard on Friday (9/10).

Lee Sopp, age 25 and also known as Sosa, attacked Mohamud Hashi, age 22 and also known as Snoop, in a wooded area near Fishermead on 11 December 2019.

Mr Sopp used a Rider Stacked Bowie knife and yelled "Yo Snoop" before fatally stabbing Mr Hashi in the thigh.

Luton Crown Court heard that Mr Hashi "quickly bled to death".

Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC said: "In driving the knife into the body of Mohamud Hashi he at least intended to cause really serious harm, and that is murder,"

He continued: "Lee Sopp killed him in order to protect his turf."

It has been reported that the day following the incident, 12 December 2019, Mr Sopp arrived at a woman's house in Shenley Church End to enforce a £20 drug debt where he bragged about the killing.

“He arrived and when she opened the door he forced his way in and grabbed her by the throat and tried to strangle her. He threatened her with a sword. He was shouting, demanded his money. He smashed items, stabbed the sofa, and damaged her child’s toys," Prosecutor Stuart Trimmer QC continued.

The woman sustained stab wounds in her leg. Police were called and upon arrival saw Mr Sosa waving a sword. Mr Sosa was then arrested and officers later discovered the sword wedged in the window with the engraving "Sosa's vengeance".

The court says the killing of Mr Hashi was murder but Mr Sopp only accepts manslaughter.

    The trial continues.
