First anniversary event benefits Macmillan.
A Milton Keynes charity, which uses discotheque themed events to raise money, celebrated their first anniversary with an evening for a leading cancer support organisation.
Purple Disco held their sell-out anniversary night at the Broughton Hotel in Milton Keynes recently and raised £1700 for Macmillan Cancer Support.
“As a fairly new events company we have definitely found our home at The Broughton,” said organiser Melanie Prince. “The team are just as passionate as us about raising money for such an amazing cause. The day couldn’t have gone any better”
Melanie and co-organiser Ben White held their first purple disco in June 2024 with the aim to raise money for domestic violence survivors and, after its success they have since run another five events, raising thousands for various local charities and causes.
The next Purple Disco at the Broughton Hotel is planned for Saturday 23rd August with a 12 hour ‘Ibiza style’ festival. The events are family friendly with children welcome until 7pm and entertainment from Coronas Cool Kids parties.
A full billing of local House DJs from Milton Keynes and surrounding areas have been invited to showcase their skills and provide 12 hours of great dance music.
With Macmillan now being their chosen charity, the Purple Disco team are asking for volunteers to help out with the running of the events by way of donation bucket handlers, dancers, set up and packing away.
If you would like to become a sponsor for one of these events to help the team raise as much as possible contact Melanie or Ben: purple_disco@yahoo.com.
