Milton Keynes Council launch consultation on installing pedestrian crossing on city grid road

Milton Keynes Council have launched a consultation on installing a pedestrian toucan crossing on the H4 Dansteed Way.

The crossing would be located between the V3 Fulmer Street and V4 Watling Street north-east of its junction with Randall Avenue, Whitehouse.

Council officials say that the the proposed toucan crossing comes as a result of the requirement to provide a safe pedestrian crossing link for pedestrians and cyclists between Whitehouse and Crownhill.

In addition, the speed limit on this section of the road would be reduced to 40mph in order to 'avoid danger to pedestrians and traffic when approaching the new controlled crossing point'.

Local residents are able to provide consultation feedback on the speed restriction and the crossing itself via the Milton Keynes Council website.

The consultation opened today and is set to last until 21st February 2019.
