The City Council has been unveiled as this year's winner of the Royal Town Planning Institute’s (RTPI) South East Awards for Planning Excellence.

Milton Keynes City Council has outlined its ambitions for future growth in its Strategy for 2050 and is gearing up to deliver growth through its New City Plan.

The panel said the competition for the overall winner was especially intense, but it was a 'delight' to be able to recognise the exceptional work undertaken by the City Council.

Stephen Harness FRTPI, Chair of the RTPI South East Awards for Planning Excellence judging panel said, “The panel was delighted to receive a strong range of entries from across the region and to be able to recognise the excellence in planning practice.

"From the overall winner Milton Keynes City Council; from the project’s winner Bayside, Worthing; from the small planning consultancy winner Edgars and to see the future of the profession in the young planner winner Joney Muriel Ramirez Soto.”
