Milton Keynes Christmas lights switch on this Saturday

Milton Keynes Christmas lights switch on organisers announce full star-studded line-up of social media sensations at new location.

The countdown to Christmas begins this Saturday, 16th November, with Milton Keynes’ biggest-ever Christmas Lights Switch-On event, relocated to the expansive car park next to The Point. Organised by MyMiltonKeynes Business Improvement District (MyMK BID), this year’s celebration promises an unforgettable experience with a star-studded line-up, including social media sensations, local talent, and a spectacular finale.

Kicking off the excitement, funfair rides will be open from 2:00 PM, and roaming performers will delight families upon arrival.

The entertainment begins at 4:00 PM with host David Allen, an internationally recognised magician and comedian, and esteemed member of the Magic Circle. Known for his unique style and with experience performing on ITV, BBC, and the Discovery Channel, David’s dynamic presence will keep the crowd entertained from start to finish.

You can expect special performances by the St Bernadette’s School Choir and the much-loved Milton Keynes Rock Choir, bringing festive cheer to the city centre. The Milton Keynes Rock Choir, directed by pianist and singer Rob Baker, is a local favourite, featuring over 60 voices performing pop and rock classics in four-part harmony. With over a decade of history in the community, they have become a staple at local festivals and events, bringing energy and passion wherever they go.

Also taking the stage, MK Theatre pantomime star Max Fulham, known for his wildly popular comedy and ventriloquism on TikTok, will perform alongside his hilarious puppet companion, Gordon the Monkey. Max, with over 200,000 followers and 2 million likes on social media, will bring his signature blend of stand-up and puppetry to the Switch-On stage.

Capping off the line-up is local hero Mike Woodhams, a Milton Keynes teacher and Britain’s Got Talent finalist. Renowned for his remarkable singing impressions, Mike won the hearts of millions on national TV, and his performance promises to be a highlight of the evening. Mike will be joined by none other than Father Christmas himself to officially switch on the City’s sparkling Christmas lights.

The move to the larger venue and this fantastic line-up reflects the growing popularity of the Switch-On event and MyMK’s commitment to making Milton Keynes a vibrant and dynamic City Centre, ready to kick-off Christmas in style! Find out more here: Christmas | MyMK.cc
