A Milton Keynes charity has received a donation from housebuilder David Wilson Homes.

The Henry Allen Trust, a charity which specialises in supporting children, teenagers, young adults and their families who have been affected by childhood cancer, has received a donation of £1,500 from housebuilder David Wilson Homes.

The Henry Allen Trust was set up in 2014 by Henry Allen’s parents who were inspired by their son’s bravery while facing a rare cancer. Before Henry so sadly passed away, he made his mummy and daddy “pinkie promise” to follow his dream – helping other children and their families create memories and fulfil wishes. The charity is still working hard to fulfil Henry’s wish and support children, teens, young adults and their families battling childhood cancers.

Dawn Allen, Director and Co-Founder of The Henry Allen Trust, and Henry’s mummy, said: “No family should face the horrible and traumatic journey that cancer inflicts, and The Henry Allen Trust is there for these families from initial contact, all the way through the rest of their journey, whether it be treatment, remission, palliative, or end-of-life-care and beyond.

“We can’t wave a magic wand and make it all better, but we can be there to support and guide these families through.

“Incredible donations like this one help Team Henry make sure basic needs are met for our children and families battling childhood cancer. They enable us to grant treats and wishes as well as supporting families with food shopping, bills, travel costs to hospitals and the increasing cost of living.

“This really means the world to all of us at Team Henry and we would like to offer David Wilson Homes our most sincere thank you for supporting Henry’s legacy, and his last wish.”

Ben Kalus, Managing Director at David Wilson Homes South Midlands, said: “As a leading housebuilder we strive to support the communities in and around the areas in which we build, and we are delighted to be able to offer The Henry Allen Trust a donation to support the fantastic work it does.

“Losing a child so tragically young is one of the most harrowing things imaginable, but to see Henry’s parents and everyone on Team Henry strive to support other families battling with cancer in Henry’s name is truly heart-warming.”
