Milton Keynes charity raises vital funds from annual Gala

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity Gala Ball Raises £59,500 for Vital Local Health Projects.

Milton Keynes Hospital Charity is thrilled to announce the success of its annual Gala Ball, held on Friday 17 October at the DoubleTree by Hilton. The glamorous masquerade-themed evening welcomed over 200 guests from across the city, raising an impressive £59,500 to support patient care and wellbeing at Milton Keynes University Hospital.

The event featured a sparkling drinks reception, a three-course dinner, entertainment from Romeo Dance Academy, and a lively charity auction run by James Lewis of Bamfords Auction House - all made possible thanks to the generosity of local businesses and sponsors.

The charity was also delighted to have the Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr James Lancaster and the Deputy Mayor of Milton Keynes Cllr Paul Trendall in attendance, with MKFM’s Wes Venn as host.

Vanessa Holmes, Associate Director of Charity and Fundraising, said: “We’re incredibly grateful to everyone who supported this year’s Gala. The atmosphere was electric, and the generosity shown by our guests and sponsors was truly humbling. Every pound raised will go directly towards projects that make a meaningful difference to patients, families, and staff at our hospital.”

Funds raised will support a range of initiatives including:

    • Children’s entertainers to bring joy to young patients during hospital stays
    • The transformation of a consultation room for those receiving a breast cancer diagnosis
    • A memory wall to support people in hospital with dementia

The charity extends heartfelt thanks to its sponsors, auction prize donors and the volunteers who helped make the evening a success – including C&B Electrical Contractors Ltd, Oakwood Resources, Thorne Project Solutions, Geoffrey Leaver Solicitors and Stratos.

A special thanks also goes to the volunteer committee who support the Gala: Jan Flawn CBE, Melanie Beck MBE, Martin Carmody and Matt Cove of Events Managed.

Planning is already underway for the 2026 Gala Ball, with hopes to build on this year’s achievements and continue enhancing the hospital experience for all.
