Milton Keynes charity Keech Hospice Care launches elephant trail fundraiser

The Big Trunk Trail will see elephant status scattered around Luton from 10th July to 8th October in order to raise much-needed funds for Keech Hospice Care.

The trail will consist of decorated elephant statues, with some painted to showcase iconic local figures like Captain Sir Tom Moore or Great British Bake Off winner Nadiya Hussain.

There will be 31 larger 'adult' artworks features, as well as 42 smaller 'baby' ones. Some locations of the sculptures will include the town hall, local football club and train station.

A trail map is available on the Big Trunk Trail website, which can be accessed by clicking here.

Once the trail has concluded, all the elephants will be auctioned off, with all proceeds going directly towards Keech Hospice in support of the work they do.

Keech Hospice Care is a local charity that provides free, specialist care for adults in Luton and south Bedfordshire, and children from Bedfordshire, Hertfordshire and Milton Keynes, who have life-limiting and terminal illnesses.

Their excellent specialist care supports adults and children to live pain and symptom-free and allows them to spend untroubled time with their family and friends, to understand what’s happening to them, to stay out of the hospital and to make the most of the time they have.

The charity heavily relies on donations from its supporters, as this accounts for around 70% of their funding. This means that they need to raise over £6 million every year (roughly £16,000 every day) to continue the amazing service and care that they provide.
