Milton Keynes Cadets support local children’s centres for Christmas

Police cadets based in Milton Keynes delivered presents to the Rowans Family Centre in Fullers Slade.

Milton Keynes Cadets pulled together funds from tuck shops and donations to purchase toys to give to children who are less fortunate during the Christmas period.

They raised £275 from the Cadet’s tuck shop, core reactive tuck shop and control room tuck shop. Tesco then donated £300 worth of toys and Graham Gillard, the lead for F&F and general merchandising, also donated £250, raising over £800 in total.

The toys were delivered to the Rowans Family Centre in Fullers Slade by PC Lisa Roberts, PC David Spencer, PC Claire Furness, and Cadets Tara Jeffery, Chloe Wheeler, Lily Glowacki and Shannon Whiting. They will then be distributed to other family centres across Milton Keynes to be given to families most in need this Christmas.

PC Claire Furness, who attended the event said: “It was an amazing thing for us to have been a part of and really showed great partnership work and community spirit. The result of which will be some very happy children on Christmas day.”
