Milton Keynes bus services to run on Sunday timetable on day of the Queen's funeral

There will be changes to the bus timetable on Monday 19th September in Milton Keynes, as the Queen's funeral takes place.

Bus services are set to run on a Sunday timetable this upcoming Bank Holiday Monday, as the funeral of Queen Elizabeth II takes place.

Bus workers in Milton Keynes and surrounding areas were also due to strike on 16th and 20th September.

It follows two days of strikes over Monday 5th and Tuesday 6th September, which caused disruption to commuters across the city.

A walk-out is now expected to take place on 30th September.

According to Unite the Union, Arriva is offering its staff, including drivers, admin staff, engineers, cleaners and shunters, pay rises of between four per cent and six per cent -  a pay cut in real terms with the rate of inflation.

Strike action has been taking place by staff at Arriva’s depots in Luton, Aylesbury, High Wycombe, Milton Keynes, Ware, Stevenage and Hemel Hempstead.
