McDonald's announce latest 'Love Where You Live' event in MK

The next in a series of 'Love Where You Live' events will take place on 8th December from 12pm to 2pm.

Rob at MKCCM is leading this event and the Christmas theme means he will be dressed as Santa and he is encouraging as many volunteers to join in Santa hats, Christmas jumpers or other festive clothing!

McDonald’s is a founding sponsor of Keep Britain Tidy’s ‘Love Where You Live’ anti-litter campaign.  The campaign actively encourages businesses, residents and authorities working together, developing pride within the local community and ridding areas of unsightly litter.

In 2015, McDonald’s organised 450 ‘Love Where You Live’ events across the UK with the help of a staggering 16,500 volunteers, community groups and supporters. Here in Milton Keynes, we are organising our calendar of events for 2016, building on the successes of previous years. This will be the third year in which we have organised a 24 hour event and will see us having conducted more than 20 events over the past three years. Our main aim this year is to continue to grow our volunteer base and increase numbers attending these events.

On 8th December, we are organising a litter pick which will take place on a route through the city centre and Xscape. Once finished, waste will be collected and safely removed by our colleagues at Serco. All equipment and first aid supplies will be provided on the day and a thorough risk assessment will be carried out in advance. Please join Rob and team at McDonald’s Xscape for noon on this date. Hot drinks will be served for all volunteers, of course!

We hope you are able to join us for the activities on Thursday 8th December.  Often, we meet people who want to volunteer in the community, but don’t know where to start.  Here, the organisation is taken care of, leaving you to make your special contribution when it suits you within period of the event.  All we ask is that you drop us an email confirming your attendance, stating the time and place you will join us, so we can make the necessary arrangements.

We look forward to hearing from you, and hope you are able to join us in showing your pride for Milton Keynes!
