Mannequin found in Milton Keynes lake after emergency services respond to reports of 'body'

    A body reported in Caldecotte turned out to be a mannequin, police say.

    Emergency services were today (8/10) called to a popular lake in Milton Keynes after receiving reports of a 'body' around midday.

    Police, fire crews and ambulance staff attended the reports at Caldecotte Lake which turned out to be a mannequin.

    In a post on social media, a Thames Valley Police spokesperson stated: "At 1227pm today, TVP were called to reports of a body in Caldecotte Lake.

    "Officers have attended along with staff from Bucks Fire and Rescue and South Central Ambulance and following a rescue effort we are pleased to confirm that the item was confirmed as a mannequin and there is no outstanding fear for welfare and no injury to any person.

    "Our thanks to those who informed us of the situation and to those who had their walk around the lake disrupted. The lake is now fully open again."
