Man released by fire crews after late night collision on M1 in Milton Keynes yesterday

    A man had to be released by fire crews last night following a collision on the M1 in Milton Keynes.

    Crews were called to the southbound carriageway of the motorway between Junction 15 at Northampton and Newport Pagnell Services yesterday at around 10.59pm.

    One fire appliance and crew from Newport Pagnell and one from Mereway in Northampton attended.

    Firefighters released a man and left him in the care of East Midlands Ambulance Service.

    The motorway was closed between J15 and J14 from around 11pm until around 12.20am whilst emergency services attended the scene.

    It was the second time the motorway was closed yesterday, with a first closure in place yesterday morning between J11A and J12 following a 'serious road traffic collision'. Police said that incident involved a HGV and a car.
