Police have secured the conviction of a Milton Keynes man who subjected his partner to repeated and sustained domestic abuse.
Nathan Stear, aged 37, of North Row, was sentenced to two years’ imprisonment at Aylesbury Crown Court on Thursday.
He was also given an indefinite restraining order, prohibiting him from contacting his victim.
Sear pleaded guilty to a count each of assault occasioning actual bodily harm, theft and assault by beating at the same hearing.
Between May and August 2025 at various locations in Milton Keynes, Stear subjected his victim, a woman aged in her thirties, to violent and coercive behaviour.
She sustained significant injuries, including bruising across her legs, arms and neck, scatches, and injuries to her eyes by attempts to gouge them.
Stear was arrested on 4 August 2025 and charged the following day.
“Nathan Stear subjected his victim to repeated and escalating abuse. In August 2025, he launched a particularly violent assault, attempting to gouge her eyes while threatening her and throwing a bed onto her," said investigating officer Detective Constable Charlotte Pratt, from the Domestic Abuse Investigation Unit."
“This was a sustained and terrifying attack, which has left lasting physical and emotional injuries.
“The victim has shown extraordinary bravery, and I have immense admiration for her.
“She wants other victims to know that they can come forward, that they deserve to be heard, and that they can break free from abuse. She sees herself now not as a victim, but as a survivor.
“I would also like to encourage anyone with concerns about a partner or ex‑partner to consider making a Clare’s Law request.
“This allows people to ask police whether a current or former partner has a history of abusive behaviour. It is an important tool for helping people protect themselves and make informed decisions.”
