Man charged after cash is stolen from charity in Milton Keynes

    A man has been charged in connection with a burglary in Milton Keynes, after approximately £3,000 in cash was stolen.

    The money had been raised to support victims of the recent floods in Sri Lanka. 

    Edward Zlatneanu, 23, of Handsworth New Road, Birmingham, was charged with one count of burglary dwelling.

    The charge relates to an incident around 4pm on Monday, when offenders broke into the registered charity address for Milton Keynes Buddhist Vihara in Aldrich Drive.

    Jewellery was also taken.

    Zlatineanu appeared before Milton Keynes Magistrates’ Court yesterday and was remanded in custody to appear at Aylesbury Crown Court on January 12, 2026.
