M1 Southbound in Milton Keynes to close overnight for smart motorway works

    Tonight, between 9pm and 5am, the full carriageway will be closed on the M1 Southbound between Junction 15a - Junction 14, for 2 nights.

    The M1 Southbound in Milton Keynes will be closed between Junction 15a - Junction 14 from 9pm tonight (22/8), for two nights.

    Newport Pagnell Services exit slip road closed is also set to be closed overnight.

    On the Northbound carriageway, lanes 1, 2 and 3 will be closed between Junction 13 - 15.

    It is all part of the smart motorway works taking place on the M1 between Junction 13 and Junction 16.

    A spokesperson for National Highways said: "Roadworks affect all journeys which is why it is important they are completed as quickly and safely as possible. Our overnight closures are under constant review and we aim to open the road earlier than the times displayed wherever possible. 

    "Please be considerate of residents living along the diversion routes when travelling during these closures. Closures can only be installed once traffic flows are at their lowest."

    On Wednesday 24th August for 2 nights there will be a full carriageway closure on the M1 Southbound for 2 nights between Junction 15 - Junction 14 between 9pm - 5am. Newport Pagnell Services exit slip road closed will also be closed overnight.
