A Stony Stratford town councillor has posted on a local Facebook group claiming that the Labour Party Leader Jeremy Corbyn and 'his cronies' don't like Jewish people.
In a post seen by MKFM, Paul Bartlett, who represents the Galley Hill area on Stony Stratford Town Council, posted the comment in response to a reply from a member of the public criticising the Conservative government.
A member of the public posted on a comment chain about the Labour leadership that the government were a 'thieving, lying bunch of clueless, bickering morons'.
Mr Bartlett then responded: "Hi [Name], I'm not an idiot, a moron or any of the things you think I am. Cheers. Oh, I like Jews too unlike Jeremy and his cronies.'
The entire comment thread was subsequently deleted by the group administrators around twenty minutes after being posted.
In response to the comment, Paul Bartlett told MKFM: "I apologise if my comments offended anyone. It was, of course, innacurate to suggest Jeremy Corbyn and all those closely connected to him did not like Jewish people. I allowed people who regularly criticise me to get under my skin and I lost my temper. I will work harder to engage in more constructive online debate in the future."
Mr Bartlett is a frequent contributor to local politics on social media, and yesterday described Milton Keynes Council Leader Peter Marland, whom he referred to as 'Pothole Pete', as being of 'as much value to the people of Wolverton as a puff of steam' in response to the ongoing Wolverton Railway Works story.
Bartlett was formerly a Conservative councillor on Milton Keynes Council, and hit the headlines three years ago when he was made homeless and forced to sleep in his car as a result.
