Local ‘Santa’ Braves the Shave for Willen Hospice at Country Market

Local bus driver, Bob Williamson, spent the festive period driving his routes as ‘Santa’, with a big beard and long white hair, before braving the shave for Willen Hospice.

The shave took place on a Friday morning at the Milton Keynes Country Market, in the Old Bath House, Wolverton. Amy Finch, Willen Hospice Community Fundraiser, had the honour of making the first ‘cut’, before handing over to Istanbul Barbers who kindly donated their time and skills.

Bob Williamson Said, “I feel about 15 years younger now, but I’m sure my hair will grow back quickly! I decided to raise money for Willen Hospice as I collected for them over Christmas, and thought, “why not raise a bit more money and shave it off!” I’d like to thank the fantastic Country Market for hosting my brave the shave and supporting Willen Hospice.”

Amy said, “Thanks to people like Bob, doing all sorts of wacky things to raise money for Willen Hospice, we can continue caring for local patients living with life-limiting illnesses, and at the end of their lives, as well as supporting their families. We simply wouldn’t be able to be here without the amazing support of the local community.”

The Country Market is a small, local cooperative who sell a range of homemade crafts, bakes, and locally grown produce. The market is held every Friday from 9am until 1pm at the Old Bath House, Stratford Road, Wolverton.
