Local performers sought to take part in special charity weekend in Milton Keynes

Milton Keynes theme park is on the lookout for performing groups to entertain visitors to the theme park for a charity weekend in September in aid of Willen Hospice.

On Saturday and Sunday, September 21 and 22, Gulliver’s Land will donate £2.50 of every ticket sold to the hospice, which serves Milton Keynes and surrounding areas.

The theme park would like to hear from performers – flashmobs, choirs, bands, singers, majorettes, and more – who would like to be considered to entertain guests over the weekend.

Sue Conway, Resort Director at Gulliver’s Land, said, “We are really looking forward to welcoming families for the charity weekend, and want to reward their support by providing some wonderful entertainment and create a family-friendly atmosphere.”

Sue continued, “There is a limited number of how many performers we can have but would like to hear from anyone who is interested in being considered to showcase their talents. Those who are chosen will receive free entry on to the park.”

“Willen Hospice has been serving the local community since 1981, offering specialist, personalised care for patients and their families. While 15% of its annual running costs are meet by the NHS, the hospice continues to provide its specialist palliative care services free of charge, doing incredible work, and we are pleased to be able to give a little something back to the hospice team”, Sue concluded.

Gulliver’s Land is offering discounted prices to the public for the weekend – tickets typically start from £18, but the first 500 tickets will cost just £12.50, then £14.50 for tickets 500-1,000, after which they will be £16.50.

The park has more than 50 rides, attractions, shows and activities such as the thrilling Runaway Train, Jungle River Ride, and Dragon Siege 360-degree pendulum.

For families looking to take advantage of the discounted prices on over the weekend of September 21 & 22, you can enjoy an overnight stay.

The park has a range of accommodation available, including  Princess Suites, JCB Suites, and Dinosaur and Unicorn themed lodges.

Gulliver’s Land is celebrating its 25th birthday having opened in 1999, the third of the four Gulliver’s Theme Park Resorts to open, the others being Gulliver’s Kingdom in Derbyshire, Gulliver’s World in Warrington, and Gulliver’s Valley in Rotherham.
