Local Milton Keynes youth football club wins 2021 Grassroots Club of the Year

Stoke Hammond Youth Football Club has recently been awarded The FA and McDonald's Grassroots Football Award 2021.

Stoke Hammond Youth Football Club is a fairly new but well-established grassroots football club based near Milton Keynes in Buckinghamshire.

Founded in 2015, their vision was to provide a professional but fun sporting facility for the children living in Stoke Hammond and surrounding villages.

Their success and rapid growth over the last few years has also achieved them the FA Charter Standard, which has been a catalyst for many of their players earning places within local football academies.

In a short statement released on social media, a spokesperson for the club spoke of their excitement for winning the award as they said: "We’re extremely proud to announce that we won!!! SHYFC is the 2021 Grassroots Club of the Year.

"This is a huge achievement for the club and wouldn’t be possible without our founding members and the rest of our incredible committee, both past and present, our amazing coaches, volunteers, parents and of course the players themselves!"

The local club was chosen by a national panel, beating numerous other clubs from across the country. The club was accredited for going above and beyond to provide great football for all while "uniting everyone in a fun atmosphere of respect, inclusivity and excellence."
