Local Lions roar into action for cancer patients and help raise money for Milton Keynes Hospital Charity

Four local Lions Clubs have been working with Milton Keynes Hospital Charity and funding the provision of snacks and refreshments for patients and families using the MKUH Cancer Centre.

In an historic move, clubs from Milton Keynes Central, Bletchley, Newport Pagnell and Olney and Stony Stratford came together in 2021 to collaborate on the project and have so far funded over £5,000 worth of supplies.

Lion Bharat from the Milton Keynes Central Club said: “The Lions carry out projects to support the local community and we are very proud of our association with the hospital and the work we have done to improve the experience of local cancer patients.”

Jenny O’Farrell-White, Community Fundraising Lead at Milton Keynes Hospital Charity said: “We are so grateful to the Lions for all of their support and dedication. The feedback we have received from the cancer centre team about the difference the snacks and refreshments make is wonderful. It’s a very special thing for them to do.”
