Local councillor is set to walk throughout Milton Keynes in a bear suit for Great Ormond Street Hospital

Cllr James Lancaster, who is also a team member for Premier Inn Milton Keynes, is setting himself and his team a challenge to raise £1,000 for Great Ormond Street Hospital.

He will be walking to every Premier Inn hotel in the home counties region, starting at the hotel at Caldecotte Lake, moving to Furzton Lake, Willen Lake and then finishing at the Old Barn in Central Milton Keynes.

Cllr Lancaster (Tattenhoe Ward) will be dressed in a bear suit which represents the partnership between Premier Inn and Great Ormond Street Hospital. He said: "I personally wanted to think of a way to attract attention to show our appreciation on our support to GOSH [Great Ormond Street Hospital].

"This charity means so much to me, and not just me, but the whole MK Team for Premier Inn wanted to fundraise in a big way! I am doing this, with other staff supporting me along the way, and also the team are offering Birdseed bags, and water on the sites by the lakes to purchase for GOSH, and even one of our team members is offering to shave her head! How awesome and brave is that?!"

There will also be a Facebook live video showing the charity walk.
